My Story

My interest in photography began when I was young. I had a vision in my head yet on the rare occasion when I picked up a camera, the vision was nothing at all like the reality of what I saw on the screen! I assumed I had no talent for capturing the world through the lens the way I saw it through my eyes so I stopped.

I grew up, studied to be a teacher and taught Psychology and Mathematics until I had my first daughter. I had two more children very soon after and I was a full time stay-at-home-mum / snack maker / mess cleaner / scheduler of playdates for the past 8 years while my children were young.

After I had my first baby, I quickly became sick of the endless stream of blurry phone photos (let me say phone cameras have come a VERY long way since then!), I got my first 'real' camera for Christmas that year and my photography journey began again, and while the journey hasn't been linear, this time, I didn't stop! I pursued this passion, learning so much along the way using trial and error, then taking formal photography classes and by taking many, many pictures.

I photographed my children for many beautiful local and international clothing and other brands. Eventually this spilled over into photographing and modelling Womens brands too, before I redirected my energy again to what I'm most passionate about...connections. The beautiful clothes and accessories definitely enable a specific look, feel and aesthetic, and I use those things to my advantage with the styling and wardrobe I offer, but its the connections between the people at a single moment in time that I love to witness and capture, and this is how I ended up here!
